GAL - not able to either write , read the GAL chip

Hi, I am designing an GAL programmer. I have done with the hardware part and now when i try to connect to the PC's parallel port i am not able to either write , read the GAL chip. can you give me some suggestions relate to this.

I am getting error message....unknow or illegal PES read, continue, when i select the option of write GAL

Do i need to do any change of settings in the PES (Programmers Electronic Signature) of GALBLAST software......Till now i haven't made any changes in the PES settings, If so please suggest me.
