Your FTDI USB-USART suddenly stopped working ?

Wonder how true this is and how many devices affected ?

I'm sure FTDI is finding out which devices used cloned chips, so they can get to the chip buyers in the OEM VID.

However, they do offer the null PID repair tool. https://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Utilities.htm

I wonder if this tool works on legacy cameras that have null PID and Unknown USB device.

@SunnySkyguy which exact tool are you referring too? I've had some boards with the "fake" chips go bad.

The video below describes how to get them back. Apparently the new FTDI drivers just perform a "software" brick.
