HI,

I need some advice, I was programming a Lattice LPX2-8E-5TQFP144, with an updated FPGA code.

But I got the programming pins on the JEDEC interface the wrong way around, the correct pin connection should be:

Pin Function
1. Vcc
2. TDO
3. TDI
4. TMS
5. GND
6. TCK

Accidently, I connected the JEDEC interface as:

Pin Function
1. TCK
2. GND
3. TMS
4. TDI
5. TDO
6. Vcc

The programming failed.

After seeing my stupid mistake, I reversed the connector, but Chip ID could not be found.

Is the LPX2 damaged and requires replacing?

It would appear that it’s time to buy a new FPGA. I would check with the manufacturer, but the fact that you‘re unable to read the device is a bad sign. Next time, use a keyed connector.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies, I have verified that the programmer is working, so I guess the FPGS is damaged.

I will have remove the LPX2 and fit a new one.

Hi,

Sorry for the spelling mistake in my last post, I really mean to say "FPGA"

And again thank you for the clarification on the damage to the FPGA, I am waiting on a new part to solder in place.

Hi,

I have removed the LPX2-8E-5TQFP144 and am waiting on replacement to solder in place.

Hopefully, I can programme the FPGA correctly...
