when an electromagnetic wave propagates through a dielectric substrate does it generate a voltage difference or a current flow (even minute values)? If so, how do you measure the current and/or voltage using ansoft hfss??? Instantaneous values or vectors will do...thanks in anticipation :)

Draw a line between the two points where you want to know the potential difference. Go to field calculator and do the line integral of E along this path (note you will need both re and im V) Look in HFSS help and look up "cookbook" there you will find the field calculator cookbook that will walk you through the use of field calculator for this calculation.

Have Fun :)
