Hi,

In Field Oriented Control of AC-Motors there are two components: Id (direct current) and Iq (quadrature current). In I/Q Modulations there are also two components: I (in phase) and Q (quadrature). Question: are they somehow compatible with each other?

The topics are related. Field oriented control (FOC) uses a description of motor currents and voltages in dq coordinates, also called rotating reference frame. It's synchronous to fundamental drive frequency. IQ modulation is a similar technique in general signal applications.
