Fiber optic transceiver

Any one know where can I get or design a cheap fiber optic transceiver that can handle signal less than 1Mbit/s?

more expensive

If you cannot find what you want, Agilent has some modules that are 5G and may be better than nothing.

You can find them by using "Agilent fiber optics" as search terms on google remembering that this site always prints @ when A is to be used.

Agilent's is more expensice than JDS Uniphase's. And also, OZoptic has some interesting tx/rx families.

Regards,

Try Sharp or Toshiba they both have parts for under 10Mhz communication and run at the 650nm tx/rx.

These parts are very easy to use.

Under 1Mhz, you can easily design your transmitter and receiver using pin diodes and lasers. This solution may be cheaper. Attached is a receiver circuit I found on the web. You need a timing extraction circuit. It can be done by means of a pll.

Thaks for all your help
