Hi,
can someone tell me the difference between FE and FB view of physical IPs ? would it be possible to do a full flow using encounter or magma using only the FE(front end) view ?

backend view include lef, milkway, spice, cdl file for lvs, sometimes even has gds file.

eda tools cannot do physical design without backend view.

in FE flow you can go upto trail routing..

Its is used for silicon virtual prototyping...

u can analyse the chip power consumption,distribution.. and lot more

Regards
Shankar

Hi, is there a way i can get the FE view files for a memory ? I'd like to design a memory controller with the memory as a hardmacro and take it through the PD flow. Could anyone plz help me out?
