Is anyone aware of a verification program that I can use to test if an ATMega328P (TQFP) is faulty/fake?

I'm finding random results when flashing with code from a repository.

I bought a couple of ICs from a seller online.

Most of the time I blamed the authenticity of a chip, few time later I found it didn't worked properly due to some mistake from my own. I wouldn't raise such suspicion as the 1st option, unless I had a sample from another batch to compare.

Hi,

There are a lot possible sources for faulty programming.
Timing, levels...

Tell us
* your power supply
* supply decoupling
* clock source
* programmer
* wiring
* schematic, pcb layout
* programming software
* programming setup
* more detailed error description
...

Here are also some long discussions about fake MCU detection:
To be honest, getting a genuine microcontroller sounds like a dream where I live in. So, never really tried to verify.
