excel engineering notation

I would like to format numbers in excel in an engineering way.
That is, I would like to display numbers as follows 12e03 or 100.3e06 or 48e-9. Does anybody know how to do this?

excel engineering format

go to format....
in the number tab ....
select the Scintific ....
and set the decimal plasec on 2 or other

(maybe it helps you) ;)

Here is the format string for engineering notation

##0.00E+00

You can also put in strings in quotes there to label thing.
