Does anyone know if it is possible to determine Airy functions in Excel? I thought of using the formula that give Ai(x), Bi(x) in terms of Bessel functions:

Ai(x) = 1/pi sqrt(x/3) K_1/3(2/3x^3/2)

Bi(x) = sqrt(x/3) ( I_1/3(2/3x^3/2) + I_(-1/3)(2/3x^3/2) )

However, Excel does not evaluate Bessel functions of negative fractional order.

Would LibreOffice do? I just checked and it is possible to evaluate BESSELI(X,-1/3) in LibreOffice Calc. You can then export the numerical results back into Excel if they needed to be used somewhere else on your spreadsheet. It doesn't allow for a live Excel document, though. Maybe you can move all to LibreOffice.
