May be you won't be able to do anything in the 2.4.x series kernel.
Do a fresh compilation of 2.6.x kernel on your system. Or may be redhat released 2.6.x kernel binary. Most of the drivers for the newer motherboards like you have is available in 2.6.x kernel. Try ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/.

Try to check the sound section and the network driver section. If that won't work Realtek people usually used provide the drivers for their cards on their site, so check it out. But it need kernel headers to compile the driver, then load the driver as usual.

If you want a short cut solution for this problem try to use Knoppix CD on your system. Knoppix has 2.6.x kernel in it. The CD is available to download too (https://www.knopper.net/knoppix-mirrors/).
