Hi,
I'm currently planning to build a network for my home automation
it will be ethernet based.
it will be based on pic 18f with ethernet inside or beside ...
I'm looking for an ethernet bootloader, so that I can reprogram some modules directly
from my computer to the pics network via ethernet during the tuning process.
do you have any experience with this ? any link ?
there are a lot of serial or usb bootloader links on the net, but I only found paying (and expensive) ethernet bootloaders
thanks.

Did you check the PIC18 ethernet bootlaoder provided in the MAL (Microchip Application Library)? It's based on the Microchip TCPIP stack.

P.S.: The commercial bootloaders offered by Brush electronics aren't too expensive, I think. https://www.brushelectronics.com/

in the MAL ethernet bootloader, I understood that you must press a button on the pic I/O within some (short) time to activate the program download
(correct me if I'm wrong) so it's useless for me since I don't want to run throught the whole house to press a button each time I make an update ...
I didnt see the brush elec bootloader, effectively it's quite afforable, but does someone use it, can I use it from the computer to start a program download ?
regards,

The method to start a download can be usually adopted by small code changes. In my view this isn't an essential point.
