error while loading lef file plz help

guys,
while i m loading lef file i got errors like
1.METALOVERHANG and OVERHANG statement is obsolete in version xx and later
2.DIRECTION statement in VIARULE is obsolete in version xx and later
3.if version is changed how errors r erased
4. the layer VIA1 is not found in the database a layer must be defined before it can be referenced

actually this warning i facing always ... plz anybody can explain this...

1-2- the messages are clear
4- the techno lef does not describe the layer VIA1, so must change the lef to map with the techno lef

Check the LEF file version first & see whether the LEF version is supported by the EDA tool.

Check How these ERROR message affect the LEF quality.

The Tech-LEF should have all the Layers ( Metal, Via and etc) defined in it. If not, ask the Vendor to provide the correct LEF file.
