The epic works just fine. Thanks for the .pdf.
You do need to change R2 into a bigger value (e.g. 10K),
or you won't get to the 13V programming voltage.

Ok, I have a two questions regarding this comment, since I have build it and does not work, still have the 0000 error, and I have made the cable myself and it is not more of 80 CM of length, so:

1. Shall I really change the R2 resistor for a greater value?

2. On the cable the GND shall be connected together (GND from DB25 connected to DB9), and what kind of db9 should I use, male or female?

2-i soldered the cables directly from the db25 to the board,and ground must be connected

Another EPIC question:
i'm succesfully using this programmer with the beta software download,as the programmer for MICROCODE...the only strange behaviour i find is that when code protect is selected,the first bytes up to 0100h can be read,after that,the usual verify error appears...am i doing something wrong?

Hello,
I want to build one EPIC programmer. Sine it requires different ZIF adapter for PICs. There is one ZIF which accepts 8 to 40 pin PIC as shown in this link. In that photo there is some jumper setting. So any one have any details of this particular adapter or its schematic. I am using 3.13 vesion of software.

I have aquestion about the software of EPIC :

is this software a full version, I mean if I have a hex file which its size is 8K Byte and I want to put this hex file in 16F877 is this software put the whole hex file in 16F877?

Please let me know, because I want to build this programmer.

EPIC is good programmer. I build it . (with ZIF pcb). and you can use it with winpic800 software. this application has auto detect pic feature, cmd line parameters.. etc. works with Win XP no problem and winpic800 is freeware.

Of course you can add another programmer.
