EP13 transformer core looks open

Hi,
The EP13 ferrite core set looks like it wont enclose the windings and give a closed magnetic circuit.....eg like an etd set would.

Do you know why the core is "Open"?

Hi,

It would. If you look carefully you'd notice that it is more like an ETD core with the topside covered.

it is a closed mag path - just look harder ....

Thanks, compared to other cores, there is a lack of symettry, and it makes us wonder if this will have some undesireable effect?.....but yes, i can see that there is a closed magnetic path now
