energy meter speedup when high current ratting ct is used,,, why?

let the the maximum load 40A and normally 15A to 20 amperes is utilized so a ct of 40-50A amperes will be used and the meter works accurate at this ct but when 200A ct is used for same situation the meter speedup units counting...........????? what is the concept of this issue? please clarify..thanks
