hello

In design a en*ergy meter with ADE*7*714 ,for converting the CT current to voltage a small value resistor is needed ,is .005 ohm or 0.01 ohm is good choice?

if you have comment or schematic on this please post it.
please specify the manufacture of that resistors .

bye

Hi

The resistor value (and power) depends on two factors:
- the TC currente power;
- and the ratio current transformer.

Without this kind of information I can say nothing more.

Best Regards
Pendragon

hi
the standard CT have 5A or 1A output ,the ratio is depend on primary current that must be converted to 5A(or 1A).

suppose that I want to use 5A or 1A CT ,by this info please recomment burden resistor value and manufacture of this resistors (four wire resistor)
(I must use four wire resistor to sense the voltage accross it correctly)
.

the above link for analog device AN does not used CT ,it measures the current directly ,I want to use CT and my application is 3 phase.
bye

Depends on the current - at 100 A ie domestic a 150 uOhm would be the choice.

These can be bought - search for shunts.

They are made from low temp co-efficient metals like Manganin.
