Hi I am trying to understand the basics of mechanical design of residential elevators(typically machine roomless), I need more info regarding the choosing of materials and the basics behind them. I searched online but couldnt find much data, Can you suggest me some good links for the same or some tutorial sort.? thank you

Thanks for the link. But what I need is something in depth. As far as I have browsed, the infos i got is about Machine Roomless and their speed, I need more info regarding choosing of a cable, groove, guide rails, typical weight of the car, floor sensing, wiring and advacements in elevator industry, like what are the communication protocols used and where power supplies are housed?
