I know this will proboably open up a whole can of worms - but here we go.

If I were to offer a service transferring paper drawings to cad formats and the transfer of file formats between various platforms, what would you say would be the best collections of tools and hardware/software for the job.

Autocad seems to be the top dog for general drawing work - would DXF files be the best format for jumping across platforms?

As to PCB services !! - where do I start. What would this cost me to kick off?

P.S. Yes I do know where I am - I think this is the best place to ask the question.

Try Protel 99 SE for your schematic capture and pcb layout, it's quite good. It will also convert to acad's dxf or dwg file format. get it from this forum.

Thanks tony - your another one to recommend that package to me.

Anyyone in the uk know of finacial support I might get - (Gov. New Deal maybe - that sort of stuff).

Im doing lots of research into what people might want in the service area im thinking of - but financing it from unemployed to self employed is one hell of a step.

Thanx in advance.

Thank you for info!
