theory electromagnetic flow measure

Some one know about good references
about sensing flow with electromagnetic sensors?

I know a few good:

The Theory of Electromagnetic Flow-Measurement
The theory of induced voltage electromagnetic flowmeters
Flow Measurement Handbook : Industrial Designs, Operating Principles, Performance, and Applications

can you explain more about it?
i'm trying to design a flowmeter for measuring raw oil flow.

couple factors must be considered:
1. raw oil includes sludge and hard materials (stone, soil, etc.)
2. the design must be an external mount, meaning it musn't obstruct the flow.

i've tried designing using a doppler technique but the materials in the flow makes measuring quite unreliable. the measurement fluctuates because of inconsistent reflection from hard materials in the flow.

can you help me on this?

thanks!

Electromagnetic flowmetering is only
applicable on conductives fluids,
Hidrocarbures arent good conductives
fluids, you should think about positive
displasamentes or turbine sensors.

Best regards

sorry I din't read cacrefully

2. the design must be an external mount, meaning it musn't obstruct the flow.

over which range should it operate ?
Pipe diameter ?

How about a venturi tube? This is where there are three pipe diameters in sequence (large, small, large) and the pressure difference between the first and second is measured.

the pipe diameter is around 1 m.
i don't understand about the range, do you mean distance between pipe and sensor? or material flow to sensor?
turbine is big no, im afraid... i'm afraid it could be clogged quite often

How about a venturi tube?

any suggestion on how to measure the tube? but i don't think that the tube could withstand the pressure, unless it has big diameter

thanks

There is no one flow computer that work properly
dealing with two phases ( raw oil & gas, raw oil & rocks....)
raw oil isn't filtered ? if the design must be an
external mount you won't get good accurate.

If you know about a comercial flow computer
post it I'll take a look, it a good practice look
what's working and improve it.

the first one showed up in google.

sorry, what i mean is crude oil, haven't been filtered from rocks and stuff
that's where the problem lies, external mount and hard materials just don't mix.
do you know how oil companies measure their oil well output, before it got processed?
thanks

im also looking for a **broken link removed** design. any resources will do. hope you will help me. thanks.
