In three Phase power supply the voltages or currents are said to be 120 degrees electrically apart .Since we are comparing all three waveforms with the reference to time then what is the meaning of electrical phase difference ?
And how come the placement of poles in generator by 120 degrees apart produce three phase current and voltage ?

In three phase, current or voltage attains their peak in one third of the cycle, if u take any one wave as a refrence then other two waves will be delayed by one third and two third in time domain. You may note that the other two waves are compared to that refrence wave ,but the comparison domain is time...
