Can you give me examples of when there is an electric field and when there is a magnetic field because I need that knowledge to clearly understand some machine stuff like motoring and current through wires etc.
Basically I'm asking this because I'm not able to understand when a magnet is brought near a wire carrying electric current, what kind of field is there and the likes..
A capacitor contains an electric field. A charge like a electron or proton establishes an electric field around it. Anytime a charge moves or current exists, it establishes a magnetic field. A coil or inductor concentrates the magnetic field. A permanent magnet keeps its field without current.
I'm not able to understand when a magnet is brought near a wire carrying electric current, what kind of field is there and the likes.
If there is movement of the magnet near the wire, it will induce a current in the wire. If the wire already has a current, the induced current will add or subtract from it. You need to get a book on electromagnetics and study it.
