edit a file using a lower version?

how to edit cadence pcb file created in high version(16.5), in a lower version(16.3)?
 

Editing in lower version not advisable, as khanna said you will lose design rule data and the file may have to be recreated.

goto file >>export>>save to****(select the 16.3 version)

I think you can directly down convert the file to version in 16 sereies only, just check that, I am not sure about it
 

Yes you are right. That is SAVE AS file menu option.

After you made your changes, did you tried opening/converting the file again with the higher version?
I doubt it would work without problems.
