dsp code security

I hear people say that code in DSP flash is safer than in ROM, in terms of preventing reverse engineering. Could anyone tell me more about this :?:

We are choosing chip for our h.264 decoder. Code security is a major consideration.

Re: DSP code security?

I reality it has not such type of security in flash , but now the most constructor of DSP and particularly in fpga design utilise a cryption algo to protect data & program in flash (code=>cryption=>load in flash) altera corp developped this type of security you can see in http:altera.com
