there are some new DRC rules added in 45nm and below technolgy.so interviewer asked this question to me.. " did u face any type of new DRC error and rules in ur project"

There are many Rules employed when the Technology is reducing.

The Rules will be ;
Density Related,
Poly Orientation,
On Grid Errors,
Metal Width/Spacing related change in rule and so on,

Thing is the details are too much, so cant enclose here.

As the tech node goes on decreasing your rules keep on increasing
We use poly in only one orientation
We maintaion poly -poly pitch which is constant
We use end caps OR fillers at the end of every row below 45nm
