In that case try Dia, I have used it before and it is quite good (for my purposes anyway). It claims to be the open source equivalent of visio. Cheers, Slayer

It has tons of plugins... network, circuit, logic, chemical, and map diagrams (and many more). A universal program: 'sudo apt-get install dia' Other alternatives are Kivio, OpenOffice.org Draw, or XFig. Oh, there is also a KDE application called Umbrello.
