Hi,
For the image shown here, how the i2c protocol to be used?

Protocol selection.JPG

I am using a 8 bit microcontroller. I have used i2c with 8 bit data for RAM device AT2404. Since the Dout is of 12 bit data, how can i use i2c here.

or

Should i send the clock individually and poll the Dout?

Thanks,
Murugesh

Hello!

First, I don't understand your question.

For the image shown here, how the i2c protocol to be used?

What do you want to know?
- How can I use I2C?
- Is this protocol I2C?

Other?

Now for your info, both I2C should be high when you don't send data,
so at least, this doesn't look like a standard I2C.
And I'm not sure you can find a processor which is 12-bit I2C capable.

Dora.

Thanks dora...

I2C communication occurs with two lines SCK (CK here), SDA (Dout here). So i thought the image works on I2C protocol.

But the data size is 12 bits here. Previously i worked with I2C on 8 bit data. So only asked is there anyway to make I2C to work with 12 bit data?
