hi,
I just want to know whether applying the charging voltage continuously to the battery will cause any damage to the battery.

Just for clarity, although there is power dissipation from the current thru the ESR of the battery, the "boiling" that commonly occurs in lead-acid batteries is due to electrolysis, not heat.

However batteries under high drain and charge cycles may experience high temperatures and causing thermal boiling.

If excess boiling lowers the electrolyte level, it needs maintenance.

Some battery basics
