Does ultra sonic waves affect or kill mosquitoes? if yes then how?

Re: Mosquito Repeller

it's not a mosquito killer. And it's not ultrasonic.

You can do a 15Khz oscilator (you can hear, and it's very disturbing for your healt  ). It just emulates the female noise of a mosquito. That send away some of them. I suggest that you must evaluate what is the better frecuency.

Good luck in the loosed fight...

Re: Mosquito Repeller

This topic was discussed to great length a few years ago. Do a search for mosquito.

One of the posts described how some parts of vitamin B will cause your body to repel some of them.

Re: Mosquito Repeller

And u want to do it with a microcontroller, instead of transistor/ IC oscillator?

We are living hard times... these days uC are cheaper than a handfull of common discrete parts :D better attach an IR receiver and use a remote to turn it on/off and sweep frequency.

Re: Mosquito Repeller

Ultrasonic do effect the mosquito in a sense that they fly away from the source...
Humans cannot hear ultrasonic but mosquito can...
A sound of 22KHz will not kill them but make u mosquito-free...
Generate frequecy by 555 with 50% duty and vibrate a piezo buzzer...

Based on theory ..
Its male who sounds, female carry disease. Mosquitos have mating season. In out of season when voice is heard she fly away.Becareful not to use while she likes to have it.
