Do you have to compensate the filters group delay?

filter group delay

hi,
i am working on the synchronisation of wireless ofdm system. i have used a low pass filter with group delay of 26. I want to know if i have to compensate the group delay in the time offset calculation for the positioning of the fft window.
if anybody know, please help me.

Hi,

Note that grd is't a constant but it vary by frequency specially in a wide band communication.
for compensation I suggest you to use equalizer instead of simplly calculating group delay.
