do i have to connect the antenna ground to the PCB ground ? ot its just the feeding signal ??

im askin because in a multilayer antenna they say just connect the feeding signal to antenna but dnt connect it to gnd ? how can it complete the circle and work as antenna ??

what about the microstrip antenna that have adhasive tap?>

antenna ground ..

what about the microstrip antenna ?

its a square antenna it has a feeding point ( |--- )in the middle and adhesive tape do i ve to connect its ground to the circuit ground ? or should be isolated ?
and why adhesive tape ????

Re: antenna ground ..

The ground of microstrip antenna could be connected to circuit ground, or not. The antenna ground could be a finite ground or infinite ground, but you have to take in considerations these parameters in your design.
Usually copper tape is used for building prototype antennas.
