Hi All,
I am working on a project where I need to implement distance measurement technique using some kind of a sensor. This system will be used to measure horizontal and vertical distance between which the Potato Bin Piler's shaft will move.
This distance can vary from 10mtrs and may go as far as 75mtrs.
I had some research and found some "string potentiometer" but they are really expensive and will make the system more expensive.

Your insight on Horizontal and vertical distance tracking will help.

Thanks.
