maximum distance for dc signal

Are there any document for the distance of dry contact signals?

As refering to Siemens PLC catalogue, maximum distance of digital input and output are 1000m ( for shielded cable) 600m ( for unshielded cable).

but any information for relay (24VDC) could not be found.

Thank in advance.

The maximum distance for the homerun cable depends on:

1) For output, how far below 24VDC can the end device affort?
2) For input, how far below 24VDC can the input card recognize as good signal?

Then you can calcuatel voltage drop to see if the cable is good enough
