Display black boxes on LCD

hi, i want to display black box instead of character at 1st place of character in 1st line of 16x2 LCD?? How to do it?
 

See the character lists of LCD makers manual and adopt the pattern instead of ascii chr
 

A way to write a block box (full rectangle of 5x8 px) is to write 0xFF to the position you like it to be. As said before by mvs sarma see the datasheet of the controller of the LCD looking for character tables. Yosmany325.
