Anyone have idea why normally we need to put diode (usually diode connected MOS) near output stage of the comparator?

Thus diode would be used to protect the circuit from any battery short happening at comparator output.

but we usually use a resistor.not diode

i think its used to protect gate from voltages higher than (1v or1.4 v)

keep highest voltage to around 1.4V is correct but I don't think it is for protection because my maximum voltage is 2.3V and this voltage won't breakdown the NMOS.
I think that diode help to pull down gate voltage faster so that comparator output can be pulled up faster (theshold voltage detected earlier), these decrease the rising edge delay between input and output.
