dimmer circuit for energy saving bulbs

Any body can help with info, articles or schematics of dimmers for
enrgy saving bulbs ?

555 dimmer 240v

these lightbulbs are a con and the light gives you megrains

it is so simple too pay 10 % of the cost of 240V 50 HZ ac

think about it ac is 1.707 * rms value

so simply add a bridge rectifier {25 amps 500V !!! watch the piv high as possible please!!!} and dim this instead with just a good quality remote control type dimmer {these have an added optical circuit}
then in daytime you can limit the total light avalible at anytime via the overheads {max limit} for night time it turns up the total

too the complete lighting circuit at the consumer unit {ps dont use this if you use tube strip lights !!! you need to supply these separate from an ac spur
then a single diode in5407 in series with each bulb holder

then the bulb runs on ~180v dc you get the same light
but pay a little less {alot less} for the same light level you dont get headache from your monitor or TV frame signal and no flicker on games also reduces the magnetic polution in your house that affects local laylines
and there is no annoying ringing from the bulb filliment

also a BULB LASTS 10!! YEARS NOT 100,000 hrs

AND you dont need a woopee doo anti flicker technologies on anything

becouse you have no ac {or a very high freq } you get very little
you can add further rectification and a few R limiter resisotor if you like too the main supply rail
but keeping it as simple as is best then you dont need a bus bar for your connections ...hehe

too add a dimmer too any circuit use a pwm circuit

a power fet "or similar device" gated by a pulse width signal from a timer or other square wave source there are heeps of schematics on the net
this allows for remote control from a tv remote using a simple pic 508 and an i/r

another device you can use is a triac and just adjust its bias with a transisitor and a pot
this is the simplest {not so good for remote }

these devices produce hstrange signals and interfearance too lf and vlf reception in your local area producing spogies and decimating your light bulb stock so cost you money {they blow up easier using a single dimmer on each or a room}

to dim an energy efficient{haha} light bulb you need too open it and add a triac too each terminal of the tube and modulate this phase differance of 90 -180 deg from the input ac signal

becouse they use a balast and sometime no starter all they are are twisted gas filled white light gens
whitelight attrackts insects and fly to your home better than standard yellow tint type bulbs and running a normal bulb on dc produces a nicer balance between very white and soft yellow
so dosnt attrack so many insects etc and dosnt give you a headache and poor eyesight in the white darkness of these energy efficient {what a cheek }

use google and type
ac lamp dimmer schematics

and dont expect members too do your donkey work

ensure your safe when fires happen protect your electricity by adding a firealarm trip too overhead circuits

and emergency 12 v circuit using just a single 300v coil relay {ie the voltage drops down too 12 v the relay trips on {us noramaly closed contacts on 300v relay} then voltage is fed to the 12v too turn on the 12v bulb}

or you can use direct from the relay contact {not a good idea as you can build a little delay between lamp switch stops them frying if the power fails to your house}

also you can feed all the 12v relays froma trigger for the alarm

using pwm 12v signal is best so routing the dimmed dc {via system above} too 12v pwm modulator is best and enshures the correct level
and wont kill you giving also protection from melting wires

just a precaution

dimmer circuit for energy saving light bulbs

to make a good insect trap

get a metal bowl
a car starter coil a few 100R resisotors a dimmer for an ac lamp a couple of 100watt bulbs and silvered with some heatproof conductive paint {or flash them taped up with aluminum or copper dust and a 12v supply}
you need a small 555 timer

connect everything up so you have a pwm signal feeding the coil
via a 2n3055 switcher transistor

place the conductive lightbulb flash to the eht end of the coil via a nice sparkplug or kinglead

and wire all the rest up
placeing the gnd to the bowl and the bulb energised via the dimmer
genorate the 12V from a bridge rectifier fed by another dimmer {or the same one as the bulb}

turn it down
till you just stop getting flashover from the bulb to the bowl and the light bulb is dim

hehe and insectocuter for very little

schematics of saving light

MONKEY, can you please clarify more this insect-trap thing..
I am interested in it..

Why it will attract insects..? What the bowl will do (what is its function)?

Can you describe the main principle? Not just the circuit... :)

Thanks in advance...

in5407 diode

the princible is simple

bugs like shit con energy efficient light buld {almost pure white light} if pure is the word too use for white light {and its far from pure anything}

so yellow house bulbs dont attrack many insects

this insecto cuter uses a metal bowl as the gnd

and simply make a silver paper cone for the bulb or you can silver the outside of it by flashing a metal salt near it with 12v dc to get a metal coating {a slow process but works very well good for valves good for me too}

then using a car coil too zap any visitors

other than this it is a good toy ...... too kill bugs
{ any type except cpu }

15 componets max...

i will draw up a circuit if you like
but its so easy

as for the house domestic ac overheads

there is enough info there to make a circuit

{but dc gives a stronger actual candels power froma bulb and the bulbs live a lot longer..... on dc ~{around about} 180v for the same actual light level
