Digitial pot design using MAX5160LEUA

Hi ,
I want to have a digital pot so I got a MAX5160LEUA IC , Now I have a some doubt in program the Micro controller for controlling the MAX5160 digital pot .
I have connected a load between H and L pins and trying to send HIGH signal (to UP/Down) pin . but there is no change load current ..

Can you pls help how to send proper signal to the UP/Down pin ..?

The load shd not be connected between H and L. Read the application note in manaul
you have to connect in series for a small load and with a opamp for current taking load...

To get a Analog output u can choose a pwm method that was much easy....

the CE must be low and if the u/d is low when a high to low pulse in INC it will increment the position.
if the u/d is high and a high to low pulse in INC it will decrement the position...
