hi to all
I am new to the field of digital image processing. I want to the project on the finger print recognition system. But I dont have idea on how to start. can anybody provide me the document related to this which is suitable for beginner like me.

I advice you to use MATLAB as a starting tool .Look here in this site for matlab examples in biometrics or finguerprint toolboxes!
 

Very usefull e-book:(eBook) Prentice Hall - Digital Image Processing By Gonzalez 2nd Edition 2002.pdf.
You can download it through emule.
Also Matlab image processing toolbox of course
