Hello. I have the following problem. I attach a wave file and an .m file. In the .m file a simple FIR filter is realized (the impulse response is given) and the input signal from the wave file is filtered. In the end the phases of the input, the filter and the output are plotted. The question is:
We know that for a linear system the phase of the output is equal to the sum of the input phase and the phase of the impulse response.
Why this fact doesnt seem to hold in this case? I mean there are some intervals where the phase of the filter is decreasing, the phase of the input is constant and the phase of the output is constant again (it should be decreasing too!)!
I have also tried to add values at specific points and the results dont seem to match.
The task is pretty simple and clear. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance to anyone who spends time on that!
