Please can anyone walk me through the procedure for importing a .sch file into Orcad Capture (.opj). I don't understand what the .ini file is supposed to do, where (what location) and how to create. I haven't found anything reasonable on Google.

OrCAD schematic files suffix is *.dsn
*.opj is a OrCAD Project File ..
Are you talking about older version of OrCAD ??

Cadence OrCAD schematic+PCB package has a latest version 17.4-2020.
OrCAD is to draw schematics as well as simulate the circuits. It accepts-probably older version of OrCAD schematics or projects.
Download for evaluating and request a limited license file from your local dealer.
