Hi

what is the difference between HSPICE & Primetime ?
Can we do timing analysis (Setup & Hold analysis) using HSPICE ?
What is the difference between simulation using HSPICE and the one using modelsim? As far as I know for HSPICE we give parasitiic netlist and modelsim verilog netlist. So whether HSPICE is more accurate in giving the real time output as it include parasitics while simulating.

thank you

Hspice And Primetime: Hspice is simulation tool for transistor level design while Primetime is static timing tool at the block/cell level.
Hspice is used to generate the setup and hold time numbers of flop/logic gate which is put in .lib file. The .lib files are used by Primetime to close the timing at the cell level.
modelsim is logic simulator which works with 0's and 1's and it doesn't deal with "actual" signal waveforms.

Hspice is transistor level simulation which solves kirchoff's laws to determine the behavior while Modelsim is for Verilog simulation which is logic model
