difference between dft and dtft

isnt DTFT the fourier transform of a discrete time signal,so isnt that also discrete in the frequency domain too..
and incase my signal is of and 5 Khz1Khz and sampling freq is 10KHz ,so will a 10 point DFT accurately capture both the frequency components

difference between dtft and dft

DTFT and DFT are different.
To compute the DTFT u need all the samples. Where as DFT uses the windowing approach. U can compute the FT of the signal using the DFT of the signal.
With respect to the sampling points u can choose the 2^n point DFT. Refer to Proakis for DFT computation and for accuracy.
