DMOS is a physical structure to make a MOS transistor. CMOS is a logic family using N and P carrier MOS transistors. In the DMOS the D stands for double diffused. One polarity diffusion is done through a hole in the oxide and then the other polarity of carrier diffusion is done. At the surface this produces the usual three areas of alternating polarity carriers that is used in making MOS transistors only the middle region (channel) is very thin (short).
If might add something, there is also a vertical power DMOS. It uses the same principle but it's using a vertical structure, using the burried layer as one of the S/D active areas. The trend is for the use of lateral DMOS
