can anyone please tell me the differences between CAN,LIN and flexray protocol

They are all automotive protocols. Like other protocols, they all have their pros and cons. CAN is the main protocol that is in use today. All newer model cars are mandated by law to use this protocol for connecting engine control units (ECUs). LIN is a protocol that is used for interconnecting other components within a car; it's main advantage is that is is cheaper to implement than CAN. Lastly, FlexRay is the newest protocol of the bunch. It was designed to supersede CAN, being both more reliable and permitting faster data speeds; it was however, also more expensive. The consortium that was developing the protocol disbanded in 2009. However, the specifications are still available, and the protocol is currently being converted into a standard.
