soft decision decoding

what is the diff b/w soft-decision decoding and the hard-decision decoding ?

waiting...

It is like 10-bit ADC vs. 1-bit ADC, which is better?
Hard-decision causes large quantization noise and information loss.

Hi
In soft decision, channel output pass through decoder then hard limiter.
In hard decision, channel output pass through hard limiter then decoder.
Soft decision better than hard decision.
