Hi,
I want to know the meaning of Strobe? what does actually strobe means in computing.

Re: Definition of Strobe

Depends on context. Normally means 'pulse'.

Strobe is pulse signal used to validate data or other signal on adjecent parallel lines. e.g In memory technology, the CAS (column address on strobe) and RAS ( row address strobe ) signals are used to tell a dynamic RAM that an address is a column or row address. DDR2/3 memory transfer data with respect to their respective strobe. In general, we can say that strobe is acknowledge pulse signal for valid data transfer.

Hope this is helpful.
