antenna how to determine distance patch to patch

hi all,

I have a little basic question about definition of antenna element distance for patch antenna array.

I wonder that the distance is calculated between middles of patch elements or, from their edges?

Thank you.

distance between two anten

Distance is calculated from center-center of patch elements.
Usally the distance between two elements is around 0.72 to 0.8λ.

distance between elements in array

thanks so much,
but I think the distance between two elements should be around 0.5 to 0.8λ, depending on application.

what is the definition of element

Yes it depends up on application.
In case of Patch antenna width of the patch itself~0.5λ.So distance between two elements is around 0.72 to 0.8λ
