dc servo control startup kit?

I was looking at the TI 2000 series DSP startup kit for motor control. However it is quite expensive, $2000. Is there a cheaper alternative?

Spectrum Digital produce F24x and F240x seri starter kits.
These kits are approx. 200-300 usd.

if you build your own power driver you can get cheaper motor starter
kit.
