Hello,

I have Digilent "Zybo" board based on Xilinx "Zynq-7000" SoC. From sometime I think about making simple digital scope based on this board and "data acquisition module" with some of ADC converter. I found on AliExpress.com relatively cheap "data acquisition module" based on AD9220AR IC (12 bit ADC) - here is link to this product page:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/330...;126.28;-1;-1@salePrice;PLN;search-mainSearch

And here are links to AD9220AR IC datasheets:

https://www.mouser.pl/ProductDetail...RS9TN1BfQueVALlv1ivfGCJQe4mMpsTcaAmG5EALw_wcB

https://www.analog.com/media/en/technical-documentation/data-sheets/ad9221_9223_9220.pdf

This ADC converter has 10 MSPS sampling rate .I have question: can 4 MHz analog bandwith be achieved on this ADC (AD9220AR) ?

Any hints would be warmly welcome.

Best Regards

Sure. Acquisition bandwidth is even 60 MHz, it can be utilized in oversampling applications, e.g. equivalent time sampling acquiring periodic input signals.
@FvM,

could you give me some references to this oversampling method?

Thanks in advance and regards

Hi,

I think it is called undersampling.

When signal frequency is higher than Nyquist (Sampling_frequency/2)
Mind: you get an alias frequency as the result.

Hello,

it should be possible to make a simple spectrum analyzer by using "Fast Fourier Transform"( I mean "FFT" IPCore on FPGA part of Zynq-700 SoC), or am I wrong? What best parameters one can achieve for such simple "spectrum analyzer" - I mean: "how many points FFT" can be calculated, "higest frequency of analog signal" from which FFT is properly calculated, how many times per second the FFT can be calculated and display?

Best Regards
