Hi everyone;
suppose a PLL synthesizer is damaged. How does it work? Does it produce any signal at its output?

Suppose a car is damaged. How does it work? Will the wheels go round?

There is not a simple answer to this question.
If the VCO is running you will probably get a signal.

In case that the VCO is separate from PLL, will be in an Open Loop (free running mode) and you have to find its oscillation frequency somewhere in the synthesizer frequency range. If the VCO and PLL are on the same chip there are big chances to be dead also, and you don’t have any signal at the output.
